July 2013

Field Trip to Hopkins Demonstration Forest

Our July outing was at Hopkins Demonstration Forest, a 140 acre tree farm donated by the Hopkins family to promote an understanding of
family-owned forestlands, and their vital role for sustainable production of wood products and public benefits. This forest showcases a variety of approaches to forest management. An important venue at the site is a native plant garden planted and maintained by OSU Master Gardeners from our chapter.

Tim took us on a walking tour of one of the beautiful natural trails.

A special Thank You to Tim for showing us around and educating us on the value of the Hopkins Forest.
