Our January talk was on the subject of favorite tools. Shown here are Will Huges with his favorite Felco #2's and with the versatile hand plow, Joby Duggan explains why this tool is her favorite.

Carol Hamilton put together this talk, she is shown here demonstrating her Grandpa's Weeder, Susan Carley brought her hand plow to share, and Buzz Oerding had more than one tool to share, though his favorite was an older trowel he has had for many years!
Sherry Sheng demonstrated for us why she loves her Spading fork, and Marianne Kahl showed us her favorite tool... the Sharpie permanent marker.
In February Heather Havens, general manager of Concentrates gave a wonderful talk about the intricacies of organic soil amendments & conventional fertilizers.


During our March, 2011 Meeting we welcomed our new MG Interns with a potluck dinner, and held a resource fair for all members.

After dinner we enjoyed the talk and slide show presented by Burl Mostel of Rare Plant Research Green Glove awardees choose their prize!
for the resource fair, Saundra talks with Terry Members had a chance to sign up for several volunteer positions needed in the coming year
our April meeting was host to our spring Plant and Seed Swap & Jean Natter's talk on Garden Facts

Maryann introduced Tim Delano, the May speaker from Hopkins Demonstration Forest

David Phipps from Stone Creek Club spoke at the June meeting

June kudo's went to 23 volunteers working over 100 hours in 2010. Here they are receiving the award, an engraved lighted 3x lupe. See Green Glove Award page for group photo.

In September Carolyn Kolb of Wind Dancer Garden shared information about grasses, and even brought some for us to purchase !


In October Diana Reeck spoke to our group about botanical names. She shared many wonderful photos from her collection. Find her nursery and email link at her Collectors Nursery Webpage.

Sherry Sheng celebrated her birthday with us at our November chapter meeting .... Red Velvet Cake !!
In December we honored our Extra Row volunteers with the traditonal Golden Trowel / Flamingo award. See the Green Glove page for a group photo!

Our December talk was titled: Psychiatric and Medical Disorders in the Garden.  Maurice Horn of Joy Creek Nursery gave a wonderful talk about some of his experiences as a nursery owner.  Click here for his webpage.
